I remember what it's like to be sleeping in a tent for weeks with the media promising 600 riot police about to descend upon us (at the Battle for Bentley, NSW, Australia 2014). We were preparing for violence and in those weeks did many drills to prepare ourselves for that eventuality. But because we held the line without fear, our enemy evaporated and went home.

Violence and a show of force would be just about the worst move the government could make right now. It will only accelerate Jacinda's demise (and all her fellow criminals). The shows over for Jacinda and her entire government. It's only a matter of time before she attempts to slink away to safer ground.

All is fine on the ground. Business as usual. The only lasting effect the police action this morning had was spurring people on to begin occupying other areas and grow those already planted. Our success doesn't hinge on Wellington!

Interesting poll of the protestors in Wellington.

- There were almost twice as many Māori respondents amongst the sampled protesters as compared to their share of the adult population.
- More women than men represented
- 60% are over the age of 41 years old
(all good to see!)

I disagree with the Top 10 Responses to Why Are You Here (large numbers are in Wellington for much more than mandates ending!). The poll seems legit but the attempt to steer it in a particular political direction is not!
