And jokes aside based on what Toleka has shared about Jupiter and Europa, neither the Karistus nor the Federation will allow any drone to land on Europa. So that mission will be fake news.

They will not pass through Van Allen belt.
The space craft can pass through, it is only the humans/biological life forms that can't there is no issues for the non-biological like a space craft.

Because it only effects biological matter, the radiation does not hurt the metal etc... the frequency control is so that the biological matter can pass though. If biological matter was inside it just passes through with only a need to shield certain sensitive components from the radiation. There is a lot of "stuff" up there.
