Question For Tays - Cars / Fuel / Petrol etc

There is a concerted effort to take away our private transport via restriction of fossil fuels and moving us on to electric. The electric supply will then be restricted through carbon taxing and supply issues as they are moving over to wind/solar. We are being setup to fail quite clearly.

My question - is there anything we can do to ensure freedom of movement from a technical perspective to our cars?

Engine modifications to improve efficiency or power to offset fuel costs?

Fuel modifications, additives, mixtures?

I know you can use ethanol, although not as combustible as petrol but there must be something else we can do as until free energy is abundant as internal combustion engines are literally freedom for us.
